“The thing under my bed waiting to grab my ankle isn’t real. I know that, and I also know that if I’m careful to keep my foot under the covers, it will never be able to grab my ankle.”

Stephen King

“The traveler sees what he sees. The tourist sees what he has come to see.”

Callan Park

I was out shooting on Sunday with Matt and we were exploring Callan Park, an old, semi-abandoned mental hospital in Sydney. While there I snapped a shot I’m rather proud of.

The shot is titled Bowling and it has quickly become one of my new favourites. It shows the hospital’s old bowling green (which is now just lawn) and the rather sad and lonely clubhouse that once overlooked it. It’s located in a rather central spot in relation to the wards so you can only imagine the hub of social activity it once was.

Keep an eye out for it next week.

“We read to know that we are not alone.”
